Quick to Listen, Slow to Speak card game offers a fun way for players to learn how to be active listeners, which is a positive personal characteristic that may last a lifetime. This game may enhance conversations with family and friends or in a structured group. The questions are more personal and may foster a deeper interest from the listener. Quick to Listen, Slow to Speak will be an opportunity for more quality time together with family and friends and away from social media. Imagine authentic communication across generations. It will offer the realization that some aspects of life are similar or the same, and other parts may reflect on a better understanding of oneself. Playing Quick to Listen, Slow to Speak may also prompt questions for a deeper understanding of personal family history. Active listening opens the door to more effective communication and understanding.
I Want to Hear What You Have to Say is designed as a fun resource for learning more about each other. So often in communities today, we spend the largest part of our time on our cell phones or steeped in other digital media. Cell phones are also often used as a quick babysitter or as a reward for children. For this reason, face-to-face conversations have been minimized and, in some cases, made to be uncomfortable. This also causes us to really know very little about our partners, parents, children, and friends. This is a fun and great way to spend time at home together or for other gatherings.
The Prize Box is designed to encourage acts of kindness in children that can begin when they are young. It will also offer an acknowledgement when a child demonstrates personal responsibility that is a result of their own choice, and not the request or insistence of a parent/teacher or guardian. When kind or responsible actions are observed and unexpected, then this is the time to introduce the Prize Box. The intention is to recognize a child when they are not intentionally striving to be good just to receive an award, but to help them to understand that their own good choices can also make them feel good. This is a good teaching moment. Introducing the Prize Box lets them know that others are watching and appreciate their good acts. It Prize Box is not intended as a bribe but is stored away and appears on occasion to acknowledge a good thing. When such an action is observed, the child (unexpecting) receives a GOOD JOB!!

It is the same with Latisha in Berry Much a Miracle.

It is the same with Latisha in Berry Much a Miracle. Things for Latisha however, were different. She was worried about how life had changed when her parents divorced. It was good though, that she had a great friend who lived just three houses down the street who understood how she felt.
As Latisha kept a hopeful heart, things began to get better. One might even say “It was a miracle.” Let the story unfold as you try the rhythm of the rhyme. Clap your hands and sing the rhyme, and hope to find the joy, as you read Berry Much a Miracle.

Cornell and Bernice were looking with anticipation to a day at the beach. They loved wiggling their toes in the bubbles of the surf and building sandcastles. Cornell was only thinking of himself and the things he wanted to do, and that were important to him. This day he was actually rude, and sometimes hurt feelings without even knowing he had done so. Bellabunt Elephant
Bellabunt Elephant - Kindle edition by Graves, Catherine. Children Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.
It is important for each child to learn to embrace and celebrate their own individuality and this includes their name. Sometimes names have special meanings that children do not always understand. Often, if their name is different (not a John, Joe or Mary), or if they have been teased because of their name, this will be a good book for them. Bellabunt Elephant was so concerned that his name is not good enough to participate in the “Name Rhyme” birthday celebration, but he learned something new… something good.
